In the distant past I used to subscribe to seed collecting expeditions in the Himalaya and around the garden there are many interesting plants that remind me of this. Today I came across one that is fun and reminds me why snakewood is called snakewood. The plant is an Arisaema, a member of the Araceae or Arum family with the common name of Cobra lillies, and the seed was collected in either Kashmir or Himachal Pradesh:

Neat little plant. That stem would make a nice 32 piece back!

Looks a lot like the" Jack in the Pulpit" that grows wild here in southern Illinois.

Bizarre, I've never seen one before!
That would have to be a snake plant.
